RECOGNITION that is. At our annual end of year meeting April, 2013 we enjoyed an Indian River Lagoon Cruise with Capt Bill Rostok's of Turtle Mount River Tours. Our traditional pot-luck dinner was replaced with hors d'oeuvres, snacks and sandwiches so we didn't miss a minute of Capt Bills narration and stories about the history of the lagoon and its inhabitants. Upon returning to the dock we were met by Audubon of Florida board members Ann Moore and Allan Milledge and Allan's wife Kathy Vogel. Don wondered why they were there and wondered even more when Ann began talking about the history of central Florida and other topics. However, after a few minutes, Ann turned to Don and said: "This is about you."
The secret had been well kept and Don was surprised when Allan and Ann thanked him for his many years of dedicated service to all Audubon efforts and Allan and Kathy presented him with two beautiful framed John James Audubon prints – one of Cardinals and one of Kingfishers. We all thank you Don.
