Dedicated to the protection of birds, other animals, and their habitats through education and activism
Southeast Volusia Audubon Society, P.O. Box 46, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32170; president@SEVolusiaAudubon.org
As you know from attending chapter meetings or reading our monthly newsletter, Southeast Volusia Audubon joined Audubon Florida in support of Florida’s Water and Land Legacy Campaign. Protecting our waters, cherished natural areas and wildlife are fundamental to a healthy and vibrant Florida. Right now, you can start off the New Year by helping Florida’s Water and Land Legacy Campaign place a critical conservation amendment on the November 2014 ballot.
The coming months offer the most productive signature gathering opportunities during this campaign with festivals happening around the state. That’s why volunteers are needed now more than ever. You can sign up to volunteer by clicking on this link. <http://floridawaterlandlegacy.org/pages/113/volunteer-today/>
Campaign volunteers are actively gathering signatures throughout the state because we have less than one year to gather the remaining 480,000 volunteer signatures needed to put the Water and Land Conservation Amendment on the 2014 ballot. Right now, the most important thing you can do to protect our rivers, springs, beaches and most special places is to volunteer.
You have a chance to make sure that state lawmakers continue to invest in conservation: to protect clean water for people and wildlife, restore important natural areas like the Everglades, and safeguard our springs and other magnificent treasures for future generations.
Please visit Florida’s Water and Land Legacy website to learn more about the campaign. Florida needs your help!
If you are a registered voter in the State of Florida and haven’t signed the petition form yourself, please sign-up at our next meeting or contact me to obtain a petition form.
